Welcome back to Nimer’s Notes! We’re discussing the NA LCS contests that are going live in a few short hours. Let me help your last second preparation with my insights as to who you should and should not draft. Let’s dive in!(Featured Image Courtesy of LoL Esports Flickr)
Who to AvoidWhile NRG did show some bite against Immortals last night, I wouldn’t get excited just yet. Immortals made a fairly big mistake in game 1 that fed Oh “Ohq” Gyu-min four kills. When that didn’t happen in subsequent games, NRG was fairly simple to do with. Furthermore, the matchup is Echo Fox, a team that plays more passively as it tries to scale for Henrik “Froggen” Hansen to carry through teamfights. There’s simply not going to be much happening in this series as compared to the other matches.
C9 and TSM are your luxuries, CLG and TL is your coreCloud9 and Team SoloMid have easier matchups today, meaning they going to be a great source for some easy points, but they might not be the highest. First off, the series could end in two games apiece, limiting the amount of potential points, and both of these teams could cleanly snowball against their opponent, resulting in faster finishes with fewer points. Still, picks like William “Meteos” Hartman–second most kills for a jungler– and Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong–second highests assists for top laner– can beef up your points.
Team Liquid and CLG is where you want to draft all of the carries. Both teams have struggled to start off, and have made a lot of mistakes, but both gravitate towards teamfights. CLG may change it up to pursue splitpushing not that top laners like Irelia are coming back to the meta, but they typically answer fights. Taking the mid and ADCs with Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black as your support is going to set you up for victory. The series is potentially close, packed with teamfights, and bloody. It should be great!
That takes care of today, and I hope to see you tomorrow!(All Statistics Courtesy of Oracle’s Elixir)
